Shannon Walsh is an actor/writer/director who was born in Hong Kong to Australian parents. Until the age of 17 she trained as a competitive gymnast, winning three all-around national gold medals before stepping away from her gymnastics career. Within three months Walsh was cast as Melanie Pratt in Wes Craven’s feature My Soul to Take. More recently Walsh appeared in John Carney’s feature Begin Again, opposite James Corden, Keira Knightley, Mark Ruffalo and Hailee Steinfeld. Sentence, a short she wrote, directed and starred in, recently premiered at the New York International Film Festival. On the TV side she was last seen in “Orange Is the New Black” and “The OA.” She also played the female lead in the Hulu pilot “Crash & Burn.”
