In addition to her work on High School, Laura Kittrell is currently working as a co-writer and executive producer on the limited series The Dolls, which is in development at HBO and set to star Issa Rae and Laura Dern. She previously worked with Rae as a writer on all five seasons of Insecure. Alongside the writing staff there, she won a Peabody Award and an NAACP Image Award and was nominated for an Emmy for best comedy series. She has also written on the shows Black Monday (Showtime), Downward Dog (ABC), and The Comedians (FX). She has a show in development with Sony and Stoller Global Solutions called U Up? with her co-writer Emily Harper, she has several features in development, one of which is set up at Village Roadshow with Jax Media producing, another of which is being produced by Nahnatchka Khan's company Fierce Baby Productions.
