In 2007, Jessie created the blog 20-Nothings (20-Nothings.com). During its decade-long run, the blog was named a TIME Top 25 Blog, Forbes Top 100 Website for Women & Top 10 Website for Millennials and lead to assignments for Marie Claire, The Huffington Post, Refinery29 and more.
Jessie’s writing soon expanded to film and television with work on E!’s Fashion Police, YouTube Red’s Single By 30 and ABC Digital’s Basic News.
In 2015 she broadened into novels, releasing the YA thriller, DEAD RINGER through James Frey’s publishing company, Full Fathom Five.
In 2017, Jessie sold a six-episode TV comedy series, RODHAM: a Hillary Clinton fantasy, to Full Screen. She quickly followed that by selling a ½ hour project at Warner Brothers Television with Jim Parson’s That’s Wonderful Productions and, in 2018 the family comedy, KIMCHI RAVIOLI, to Netflix.
In addition to her writing, Rosen created the live storytelling series, SUNDAY NIGHT SEX TALKS. The show features true stories of sex, love and intimacy. Performers have included Michelle Buteau, Rachel Bloom, Cindy Chupack, Cameron Esposito and 180+ more. The show was featured as a date on ABC’s The Bachelorette delivering them their highest rated episode of the season. It has garnered press from Glamour, BuzzFeed, Page Six & Time Out New York.
In 2018 Jessie was tapped by Brat Inc. – YouTube’s #1 teen-leaning studio - to develop their writers’ room and content creation process for all scripted programming. She oversaw seven original series from concept through delivery, more than 75 episodes of content.
Jessie followed that by showrunning three seasons of The Baxters – a 1/2 hour dramedy for MGM and Will Packer Media – completing a total of 34 episodes. All three seasons of The Baxters were shot on location in Los Angeles from December 2018 – December 2019.
In 2022 Jessie sold two new, original TV projects: KAREN - a ½ hour dark comedy spec script to CBS Studios with Green Ribbon Entertainment producing and DEENA & GRAHAM & MAX & ADAM, a network comedy pitch to ABC Studios.
In 2023 she returned to novel writing, selling her manuscript THE HEIRLOOM to Putnam at Penguin Random House in a pre-empt and securing a two-book deal. The novel will be released May 7, 2024.
Jessie lives in the Eagle Rock neighborhood of Los Angeles.
