The film was also nominated for a 2017 Golden Globe® for Best Motion Picture – Foreign Language.
Most recently, García Bernal lent his voice to the Pixar animated feature Coco, which was released in November 2017 and wrapped production on the film The Kindergarten Teacher, premiering at Sundance in 2018. He is currently directing his second feature film, Chicuarotes.
