Patrick Vollrath is making his feature-film directorial debut. He grew up in a small town in Germany and began his career working as an editor. In 2008 Vollrath began his studies in directing at the Film Academy Vienna, where he graduated with honors. His teacher and mentor was Academy Award nominee and two-time Palme d’Or winner Michael Haneke, director of such films as Funny Games and Amour. Vollrath has been honored with several national and international prizes for his work. Vollrath’s graduation film, Everything Will Be Okay, premiered in the Cannes Critics’ Week. In 2016 it was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Live Action Short and the film has since won more than 30 prestigious prizes worldwide.
