Cast Detail: Lovies Simone

Included in Variety’s “Young Hollywood Impact Report” of talent to watch, actress Lovie  Simone currently stars on OWN’s hit drama series GREENLEAF, executive produced by  Oprah Winfrey. Simone plays Zora Greenleaf, the rebellious teenage daughter of Kerissa  (Kim Hawthorne) and Jacob Greenleaf (Lamman Rucker). GREENLEAF recently received an NAACP nomination for Outstanding Drama Series. The series was renewed for a fourth season, set to premiere in 2019. 

Simone has proved herself to be one of the most anticipated faces of Sundance, with two upcoming projects premiering at the prestigious film festival. Simone is starring in the title role of the indie feature SELAH & THE SPADES, directed by Tayarisha Poe. She also portrays Jenna, a key supporting role alongside Charlie Plummer and J.C. MacKenzie in A24's SHARE, directed by Pippa Bianco. 

In 2018, Simone co-starred in the indie feature MONSTER alongside John David Washington, Jennifer Hudson and Jeffrey Wright. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. Her additional television credits include ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK and BLUE BLOODS, as well as several commercials and voiceover projects.  Simone was raised in New York and currently resides in Atlanta.
