    Aylin Tezel is a German actress best known for Almanya: Welcome to Germany (Berlinale Competition 2011) and Breaking Horizons (2012), for which she received the Best Actress Award at the Torino Film Festival and the German Screen Actors Award. On television she received acclaim for her series lead role as young cop Nora Dalay in Germany’s most popular police drama, “Tatort,” and for her lead role in the third season of the Canadian spy series “X Company.” She also starred in Marco Kreuzpaintner’s romantic comedy Coming In and played the lead in Robert Manson’s indie film Lost in the Living. Tezel is currently filming the lead role in the new German miniseries “Void,” a thriller in which she plays a heavily pregnant police officer who is kidnapped and wakes several days later to find that her baby is missing, but she has no memory of what happened and faces a race against time to uncover the truth and find her child.  Alongside acting, Tezel has directed the documentary short Trust Me It Works, about the British choreographer Royston Maldoom, as well as the short film Inhale, which premiered at Cork Film Festival and aired on European TV. She also recently directed the short film Phoenix and is currently preparing her directorial debut feature, the English-language film Falling Into Place, which she also co-wrote.
